Therapy Approaches Defined

Many parents and caregivers have searched widely for therapeutic help to address the unique needs of attachment challenged children, only to find a plethora of well-meaning therapists with little experience or understanding of the complexities of dysregulated emotional states inside a family.  These elaborate searches have led to frustration, exhaustion, worsening relationships, and sometimes despair and even hopelessness.

There is hope and there are true success stories.  I have been priviledged over the last 10 years to be part of many transformations.  Some parents have called them amazing, near miracles in their lives.

This therapy can be intensive and often requires both in-office and in-home services.  My approach is love and attachment-based with a focused emphasis on supporting whole family well-being, increasing adult/child bonding, and strengthening parent support to make an impact on the attachment of the child to the caregiver(s) in loving rather than destructive ways.

Emotionally Focused Therapy is also one of the most effective and long lasting approaches to healing painful wounding that can sometimes occur within marriages, couplings, relationships and families. There is plenty of hope to go around and real loving transformation is possible.  Give your love a chance.

Trauma Reduction

  • EMDR, for children and adults experiencing Post-Traumatic Stress symptoms, such as flashbacks, re-experiencing past events and emotions, anxiety, fear, and hypervigilence.
  • DBT, for processing paradoxical life experiences both cognitively, practically, and mindfully.
  • Affect Regulation Therapy, to develop emotion regulation skills that interfere with daily living.

Trauma impacts a person's ability to experience joy and well-being in life and relationships.  I have specialized training in EMDR, DBT, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Affect Regulation Therapy which will help you recover your confidence, increase your sense of personal safety, open access to your loving feelings, and re-energize your relationship with yourself and your loved ones.  Peace can be yours again.

Attachment-Based Therapy for Couples

Falling in love is easy.  Staying in love is priceless.  Everyone must develop skills for creating the relationships they want that last over time.  Attachment-Based Therapy can help you do that.  If you have been wanting to find a way to increase the loving feelings in your couple, give this a try.  It can work for you. I have extensive experience working with lesbian, gay, straight and alternative relationships.
